Internet-Based Remote Support
01 November 2012
NDC has announced a new remote support for its Ethernet-enabled Series 710e on-line NIR gauges and InfraLab e-Series benchtop analysers, used extensively for measuring moisture and other parameters in manufacturing processes, such as food, converting, chemicals and other bulk products, to improve quality and enable process control.

This new facility enables NDC service engineers to access an instrument anywhere in the world via an internet-based connection for software upgrades, performance evaluation, calibration and more, providing a cost-effective alternative to on-site visits and saving valuable time with instant access.
NDC customer service manager, Neil Stephens, says: "We introduced this facility in direct response to customer requests. Since the only two consumable parts in the instrument, the source lamp and filterwheel motor, are guaranteed for 5 years, hardware failures are extremely unlikely, making remote access a perfect maintenance tool.
"The facility allows us to make a full back-up,” he continues. "We can also update software where applicable and check component performance.
By checking the calibration history log we can identify existing or potential issues and advise on instrument optimisation.”
