ODVA to showcase Ethernet technology & standards at ACHEMA 2018
09 May 2018
ODVA, one of the world's leading standards development and trade organisations for information and communication technologies used in industrial automation, has announced that it will return to ACHEMA in 2018 with an EtherNet/IP-focused exhibit featuring working demonstrations of emerging technologies and standards for Ethernet.
The exhibit will highlight changes in Ethernet and EtherNet/IP that foreshadow the coming shift in process automation and instrumentation toward open, standards-based interoperable Ethernet systems.
At ACHEMA, ODVA will showcase an open, interoperable and secure EtherNet/IP network architecture for the process industry. Reflecting the results of ODVA¹s initiative for the Optimization of Process Integration (OPI), the exhibit will demonstrate a transparent and robust communication between controllers, field devices and asset management systems. Visitors to the ODVA exhibit will see live demonstrations of NAMUR NE107 diagnostics, HART integration with EtherNet/IP systems, long-reach Ethernet for process field devices located in hazardous locations, and the benefits of EtherNet/IP¹s routing capabilities for seamless exchange of data to, and from, field devices.
"The process industry is at a tipping point where field deployment of industrial Ethernet, whether natively or through integration of traditional fieldbus, is no longer a dream," said Katherine Voss, ODVA president. "By the time stakeholders in the process industry return to ACHEMA 2021, users in the process industry will find a wide of EtherNet/IP products available for process automation and instrumentation including the first EtherNet/IP field devices for use in hazardous locations."
ACHEMA 2018 takes place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, convene 11th-15th June 2018; ODVA's exhibit will be located in Hall 11.0, Stand A41.
