OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTION
23 October 2012
New from Wieland, the latest wietap range of overvoltage protection modules reflects the growing need for effective overvoltage protection of machines, systems and building technology
The wietap range is designed to provide a complete protection system for the building, from Type 1 arresters on the building’s mains supply, through to Type 2 and 3 arresters in sub-panels and control cabinets.
Crucially, wietap modules deliver a very short response time and high discharge capacity (up to 100kA), with no tripping of fuses thanks to the ‘follow current limitation’. They are designed for use in control cabinets, and sub-panels of machines and buildings, as well as photovoltaic systems.
All components are modular and DIN rail mountable and can be replaced without tools. All are designed for application temperatures from -40˚C to +80˚C and are vibration and shock tested to EN 60068-2 .
