Driving game-changing outcomes

10 May 2017

Astec has announced a new partnership with GE Digital to become an official Alliance Partner. Since 2005, Astec has provided engineering services to GE Digital’s Global Professional Services team, as well as working on projects for other GE businesses such as GE Oil & Gas.

This most recent collaboration continues to provide mutual benefit for both companies, as the focus on IoT increases.

GE will benefit from Astec’s unique skill set in developing new industrial internet applications which support the adoption of Predix – GE’s cloud-based operating system. Astec will be able to utilise GE Digital’s tools, technologies and significant domain expertise.

The past year has been busy for GE since the launch of Predix and the Alliance Program at the 2016 Mobile World Congress. The program has exceeded its primary aim of identifying 50+ new partnerships in its first year. Designed to equip members with the insights, skills, tools and rewards needed to deliver valuable business outcomes, the initiative brings Predix to the world’s largest developer ecosystem.

Andy Tripp, Astec managing director says: “We are absolutely delighted to be a GE Digital Alliance Partner. Access to specialised training and certification in Predix will be invaluable as demand in this area grows. Astec has been built on traditional automation systems such as SCADA, MES & Batch, so we have a deep appreciation for the safety and security needs of industrial customers in light of new cloud-based technologies. And now Predix is opening up unprecedented opportunities – huge gains in efficiency, productivity and longevity are there for the taking. It’s an exciting time.”
