Quantum Controls enters into new agreement with ABB Drives
30 January 2018
After a 25-year partnership, the UK’s leading ABB partner has signed a new deal with ABB Drives. Due to the growth of Quantum Controls (QC) nationally, it was mutually decided that QC has outgrown the ABB Drives Authorised Value Provider (AVP) network - a collection of engineering companies appointed to solely supply ABB drives up to a maximum power rating of 500kW.

QC were a founding member of the UK AVP network, originally set up by the visionary ABB Drives managers Ian Rennie and James Haigh in 2000, formerly named the Drives Alliance.
The new deal sees QC leave the ABB Drives AVP network and the operating restrictions imposed on its partners, allowing Quantum to better serve the needs of UK industry on a national basis
Managing Director, Kevin Brown states “There is not one of our c.200 service contract customers that have only one type of drive installed across their plant. Quantum Controls are the only company in the UK who can offer qualified drive engineer support on all major drive manufacturer’s products - a unique service in today’s market place.
The new agreement with ABB Drives has led to a huge investment in ABB Drives and Spares stock, establishing us as the UK’s largest stockist. However, the new agreement also now gives us the freedom to establish new additional service partnerships with all major drive manufacturers, making us the only true ‘one-stop shop’ that every UK variable speed drive user needs.”
