Expanded industrial cybersecurity offering

19 February 2026

GLOBAL LEADER in cybersecurity and critical systems protection, Thales, and leading provider of secure remote access for industrial operations, Secomea, have announced a new partnership covering the UK, Ireland, and the Nordic region.

The collaboration enables Thales to strengthen its industrial cybersecurity portfolio with a zero-trust, compliance-ready OT remote access solution purpose-built to protect critical infrastructure and manufacturing operations.

As industrial cyber threats accelerate, secure third-party access has become one of the most urgent security gaps for manufacturers. According to the IBM X-Force Threat Intelligence Index, manufacturing was the most targeted industry for cyberattacks, accounting for 32% of all breaches last year. A significant portion of OT incidents originate from remote connectivity exposures, unmanaged vendor access, or misconfigured VPNs - all challenges that industrial organisations are increasingly seeking to eliminate as regulations like NIS2 and the Cyber Resilience Act raise the bar for compliance.

Thales’ decision to add Secomea to its offering reflects a growing market need for secure, scalable, and auditable OT remote access that bridges IT and OT requirements - without adding complexity for engineers or local sites.

Through this partnership, Thales’ can offer its customers Secomea, a secure remote access platform designed specifically for industrial networks and operational technology (OT). The solution provides zero-trust remote access through outbound-only connections, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and granular role- and time-based access controls; full auditability with compliance aligned to IEC 62443, NIS2, and CRA requirements; native support for OT equipment including PLCs, HMIs, legacy operating systems, and serial protocols; rapid deployment with implementation times as short as one day per site; and secure collaboration between manufacturers and machine builders, enabling controlled vendor access without exposing the production network.

This partnership directly supports manufacturers and critical infrastructure asset owners who are seeking to reduce cyber risk, prevent downtime, and gain control and visibility over their vendor ecosystem while maintaining operational continuity.
