Modified Atmosphere Sandwich Packing

Heat sealing specialist Proseal has expanded its range of sandwich packing equipment with the introduction of a fully automatic high speed wedge erector and heat sealing system capable of speeds of up to 90 packs per minute. The range also includes what is said to be the world’s first modified atmosphere packing system for sandwiches.
The new Proseal GT3S features a three axis pick and place system that is able to transfer filled packs quickly to the sealing area. The system can handle carton widths of up to 110mm and the single point size adjustment means changeovers between pack sizes can be carried out in less than five minutes.
The system also incorporates automatic carton de-nesting and erecting and can be integrated with label applicators, printers, checkweighers and metal detectors for a complete sandwich packing operation.
