OIL CONDITION MONITOR
24 October 2012
Water in an oil system can lead to corrosion, ineffective lubrication, friction and eventually serious damage.....

To help combat this, ifm electronic now offers a diagnostic tool in the form of a solid-state oil condition monitor.
The new LDH monitor will detect water contamination and indicate the relative percentage of moisture content via the analogue output. This allows an external alarm to set if the water content gets too high, and will also provide data for trending over a period of operation.
Oil temperature is also a commonly-measured parameter, and the LDH will also measure this in parallel to the water content and signal this on a second 4 to 20mA output. The unit will operate over a wide range of oil temperatures, from –20 to 120˚C from a standard DC power supply (9 to 33V).
