The UK’s national manufacturing show

11 March 2020

Postponed from April this year to 25th-28th January 2121, MACH is the longest-running manufacturing and engineering exhibition in the UK, showcasing the largest variety of manufacturing technology solutions in the country, all under one roof

MACH 2020 is unique because of the amount of live working machinery on display. In 2018, the exhibition attracted more than 25,000 visitors during the five days of the show and has so far been credited with generating over £200 million worth of business for exhibitors

“The continued development of manufacturing technologies is enabling faster, more responsive, and more efficient processes to be implemented in businesses. The exhibition as always will introduce new technologies and processes that can help boost productivity,” says James Selka, MTA CEO. “MACH 2020 remains unique because of the amount of live working machinery on display. This means visitors will be able to experience first-hand the power and capabilities of the latest technology and see how it can be applied to their needs.

"By registering early guests will find it easier to gain access to the show and cut down on waiting times at the NEC. All registered visitors will receive regular updates about the show and a pre-registration pack, which contains show guide, fold out floorplans, ID badge and a product guide when they get to the exhibition."

Made Smarter at MACH 2020

Aiming to help SMEs start their digital journey, The Made Smarter programme will be exhibiting at MACH 2020. The Made Smarter North West pilot is already working with SMEs to help them introduce digital tools and technologies to boost productivity and growth. So far 300 North Western small and medium sized manufacturers have secured support, including specialised advice and £1.6M of funding, in the first year of the programme.

The programme aims to kick start a new industrial revolution for the manufacturing sector and turn the country into a world leader in digital technologies. These technologies can help close the productivity gap in the UK and cost effectively boost production.

The Made Smarter team is looking to implement what they have learnt in the North West Pilot to help roll the scheme out to other areas and regions of the UK.

Made Smarter is bringing this help and support to MACH 2020 in order to reach even more makers and signpost them towards taking their first steps into Industry 4.0.

HVM Catapult Trail

Another notable exhibitor at this year’s event is the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult - the go-to place for manufacturing technologies in the UK, supporting organisations of all sizes in their success.

The Catapult Trail, consisting of four stands across the exhibition, will demonstrate how the HMV Catapult can help companies harness key Industry 4.0 technologies to improve their bottom line. All seven of the HVM Catapult’s world-leading centres of innovation will be on display along the trail, with special features on the future of machining, additive manufacturing, digitalisation and automation.

expertise in additive manufacturing will be on show

With the continued push in the sector towards (near) netshape manufacturing, the Manufacturing Technology Centre’s expertise in additive manufacturing will be on show, with a cutting-edge carbon fibre printer producing components throughout the event.

Making their way along the trail to the Advanced Forming Research Centre’s (AFRC) stand, visitors can then discuss Machining 4.0. This is an Intereg-funded project for SMEs to innovate with new machining technologies, including hybrid systems.

To complete the visitor journey along the supply chain, the Catapult Trail ends with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre’s (AMRC) display of their automation and digitalisation capabilities. On the stand, you’ll see an eye-catching Caterham sports car which forms the centrepiece of their ELLI (ELectrification and Lightweighting in Industry 4.0) project. Their demos will tie into an overarching Digital Twin, providing real time manufacturing data.

Seminar programme

Visitors will also be able to partake in the event's extensive seminar programme, which includes presentations from some of the leading minds in manufacturing and advanced engineering, including representatives from AMRC, MTC, Coventry University, Siemens and BAE Systems. Topics will include areas such as AI, Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing and cyber security. For full details visit www.machexhibition.com/visit/seminar-programme.
