TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM CYBER SECURITY
07 November 2012
With the burgeoning interest in cyber security in manufacturing and automation, it is opportune to....
highlight an upcoming all-day event being organised on 21st June in London by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Cyber security: Transportation Systems aims to enhance knowledge of transport security systems. The security risks within this area are evident from previous cases, including a railway hack in Pacific Northwest, hack attacks mounted on car control systems and, more recently, attacks on train-switching technology – which represents a critical vulnerability. Of particular interest to our readers would be the pre-lunch session by Anthony Cross of London Underground, dealing with control systems in the underground, the threats and control measures. Other highlights include a panel session on lessons which can be learned from safety-critical industries, the air traffic control perspective, and a look at high-tech car theft.
Registration is £319 for members, £399 for non-members, with discounts available for multiple delegates. Details via www.theiet.org/ events, or contact event organiser Ching-Yee Wan on [email protected]
