Front end power supplies
24 April 2013
For standalone and distributed power architecture (DPA) applications requiring reliable 12, 24, 32 and 48V bulk power in the communications, test and industrial markets, TDK-Lambda has introduced the RFE1600 series of front end power supplies.

Up to 20% output voltage adjustment is possible, enabling the 1.6kW 1U high units to be used in a variety of customer specific applications including battery charging.
Operating from a universal input of 85 to 265VAC, the RFE1600 maintains over 90% efficiency, thus minimising heat dissipation. The RFE1600-12, -24, -32 and -48 models can be used individually or up to 10 units can be connected in parallel to form an N+1 redundant power system with internal ORing MOSFETs and single wire current share.
Each power supply has two temperature-controlled internal cooling fans for longer life and can operate in temperatures ranging from -10 to +70°C. With overall dimensions of 85 x 41 x 320mm the TDK-Lambda RFE1600 power supply achieves a power density of 24W/in3.
