Supporting industrial distribution in the EMEA region

25 April 2014

According to a recent economic outlook by EPTDA – EMEA Power Transmission Distributors Association, the European economic recovery is progressing, albeit at a mild pace

Europe Motor vehicle production and the manufacturing sector in Central and Eastern Europe are growing at the highest rates seen since 2011 and the European industrial production is progressing at a mild pace. The growth occurring within the EU and the economic environment will favour many industries and prove beneficial to companies with strategic vision and strong tactical plans.

As a professional organisation for distributors and manufacturers in the mechanical power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) industry, the role of EPTDA is to monitor these changes, to reinforce working relations between distributors and manufacturers across Europe and beyond, and keep abreast of the latest developments in our sector.

EPTDA is the leading organisation for the industrial distribution channel in Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA), setting the highest standards in serving customers. With a membership of over 230 leading distributor and manufacturer companies from across 30 countries in Europe, North America, Middle East & Africa, EPTDA currently represents over 26 billion euros annual sales volume and over 250,000 employees. Its mission is to advance distribution and strengthen its members to be successful, profitable and competitive in a continually changing market environment.

EPTDA generates tangible benefits for its members, such as market information and business trends, tailor-made education and training, executive-level networking, B2B meeting opportunities and business tools adding on to members’ competitive advantage. Just to give an example, the EPTDA Product Locator, is a unique web-based product search engine to locate EPTDA distributor and manufacturer member companies and increase accessibility to their products. Both products and product lines are featured in the locator as a free member service. The result is an enhanced brand presence on the web that no PT/MC business can afford to miss.

By allowing users to search by free entry, company type (distributor/ manufacturer), country and product, the EPTDA Product Locator is useful for suppliers, dealers and customers alike, including end users. This tool, combined with strong search engine optimisation, enables EPTDA to drive many more PT/MC professionals and customers looking for products towards its member companies.

EPTDA will further its initiatives to increase membership representation in Turkey and Eastern Europe, and explore growth opportunities in the Middle East and Africa

In order to unleash great market potential in fast growing economies for our members, EPTDA will further its initiatives to increase membership representation in Turkey and Eastern Europe, and explore growth opportunities in the Middle East and Africa. In this respect, EPTDA was a first-time exhibitor at the WIN Automation Fair in Istanbul (19-22 March 2014) - the most important event of the manufacturing industry in the Eurasian region. The Association also exhibited at the Drives & Controls show in April at the NEC Birmingham. The next stop-over will be at the International Engineering Fair (MSV) in Brno, Czech Republic, 29th September -3rd October 2014. EPTDA will host a dedicated joint pavilion offering its members premier exposure at this leading industrial trade fair in Central Europe.

The year 2014 will see our organization in Istanbul again in September where we will be holding our next annual convention, "EPTDA Istanbul 2014”, at the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel. Over 400 key decision makers and leaders of the PT/MC industry are expected to attend this unique business summit.

EPTDA is the EMEA Power Transmission Distributors Association. Founded in 1998, it now represents more than 220 member companies – distributors, manufacturers, and associates – from 30 countries, 25 billionEuro annual sales volume, 250,000 employees and 15 categories of power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) products such as controls and sensors, electronic drives, hydraulics and pneumatics, belts and bearings, to name but a few.
