It has been designed in response to market demand for a robust junction box which is quick and easy to install in tunnels to facilitate power distribution for repair and maintenance equipment – where the use of a generator is forbidden due to the danger of harmful fumes. The enclosure conforms to Class II regulations and offers IK09 impact resistance, making them ideal for use in the rail industry.

The design, which includes maintenance-free terminals using patented wire clamping technology, is available from the manufacturer fully assembled; drastically reducing onsite installation time. Traditionally a niche application such as this would require engineers to customise standard enclosures to make them fit for purpose.
