Capacity to expand production
23 April 2015
SEM has celebrated 100 years of manufacturing high performance electric motors by laying the foundations for its future with relocation to a more spacious purpose-built facility.

The brand new factory and office complex will provide a "state of the art” home for production of the company’s current permanent magnet servomotor and asynchronous spindle motor ranges, as well as encouraging the development of new technologies and further refined products for years to come.
Located at The Bridge Technology Park development near Dartford, Kent, SEM’s new headquarters will more than double the floor space of its current facility providing much needed capacity to expand its production.
The "blank canvas” of the new build gives SEM the luxury of being able to fully review its production methods and processes allowing for the implementation of new manufacturing techniques from day one at the new site. The new building will provide a more stable production environment as well as better working conditions for its staff, with every part of the factory climate controlled to maintain near constant temperature and humidity. A high tech lighting system will also enhance the working environment with ambient light levels twice those of the existing factory and renewable energy sources being used to pre-heat the water system in the building.
