High-speed thermal imaging camera
28 October 2015
FLIR Systems has added a new member to its range of thermal imaging cameras for machine vision. The FLIR A66 Series is a high-speed thermal imaging camera, targeted at those machine vision applications that need high sensitivity, fast integration times and accurate camera synchronization and triggering.

A66 thermal cameras can help users see minute temperature differences, capture high-speed processes and thermal events, measure temperatures of very small targets, and synchronize with other measuring devices, making them ideal for automated inspections and process control, especially machine vision applications that require critical imaging such as fast-moving bottling, food packaging, and laminate production lines.
The cameras’ cooled FLIR Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector operates in the 3- to 5-micron waveband, producing crisp thermal images at 640 x 512 pixel resolution with a thermal sensitivity of <20 mK for accurate temperature measurement. With the ability to support high frame rates and capture all pixels within a scene in snapshot mode, these cameras help eliminate blur on high-speed targets, a problem common to uncooled thermal imagers.
Custom cold filtering options for specific spectral detection and measurement are also available, ideal for imaging through glass, measuring temperature of thin film plastics, and filtering different wavebands for laser profiling and detection.
