'World's smallest' photoelectric sensors

The EX-Z Sensolution photoelectric sensor from Panasonic is said to be the smallest photoelectric sensor in the world.

Key features of the EX-Z Series photoelectric sensor include: Dimensions 14 x 8 x 3mm (front type); Thru-beam type sensors with a built-in amplifier; Slim design of only 3mm – including optics, electronics, LED indicator and transistor output.
The sensor has a sensing range of up to 500mm (EX-Z13) and detects objects with a diameter as small as 0.3mm (EX-Z11).
Other features include: Front and side sensing types available; Clearly visible LED indicator; IP67 degree environmental protection and robot-cable (repeated flex) versions available.
