Absolute Optical Encoder
19 October 2012
Renishaw will be showcasing its Resolute true absolute optical encoder, which is capable of 27 bit resolution at 36,000rpm...

Claimed to out-perform all other non-contact absolute encoders, Resolute offers high accuracy scales, high levels of motion control and dirt immunity and wide set-up tolerances. The finepitch system delivers a resolution of just 1 nanometre at up to 100m/s, for both linear and angle encoding applications. It is available with a range of high-speed serial communications protocols including open protocols from BiSS and proprietary protocols from FANUC, Panasonic and Mitsubishi.
Also on show, the Resolute ETR (Extended Temperature Range) encoder brings the benefits of the Resolute absolute, fine pitch angle encoder to harsh, low-temperature applications.
Operation is guaranteed down to - 40°C in non-condensing environments.
