Imaging in all its forms
28 April 2023
THERMAL IMAGING and infra-red technology have long been a core component of what visitors can expect to see at Maintec and 2023 will be no different in that regard.

However, the younger cousin of this well-established condition monitoring technology is acoustic imaging and several exhibitors at Maintec, such as Teledyne FLIR, FLUKE, NL Acoustics and Acoustic Camera UK will be demonstrating the great strides that have been made in this area.
One of the reasons why Acoustic Imaging has made great strides recently is due to the steep rise in the price of energy. Energy is one of the reasons why the company will be focusing on acoustic imaging at Maintec and its new product the FLIR Si124 will be on the stand. The Si124 comes in three models - one that detects both compressed air and electrical leaks, one that detects just compressed air leaks and one that detects just partial electrical discharge - providing users with flexibility for their application.
An aspect of the camera, which in today's data driven world is highly relevant, is that through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning - from comparing thousands of historical results - the camera can provide users with a monetary value on what a particular leak is costing them in additional energy costs.
