The soft starters utilise an intelligent digital system to smoothly start and stop the motor by ramping the motor speed up from stand-still to synchronous speed on start and from synchronous speed back down to stand-still when stopping. In addition to protecting the driven load this also improves the overall performance of the motor and significantly improves its longevity.

Importantly the SSR series soft starters feature 3-phase control. Unlike low-cost 2-phase control methods this avoids your motor from overheating in the windings of the non-controlled phase, particularly on high-torque or a long start ramp, which will lead to premature ageing and failure of your motor.

Other motor protection features include current limit during start-up, over and under-current during running, phase loss and over-voltage.

The SSR series also features an RS485 communication interface with support for the Modbus protocol. This makes it compatible with industrial bus monitoring and control systems.
