Larger Movement Of Inertia
14 March 2013
The AM8500 series extends the Beckhoff servomotor range with increased rotor moment of inertia.
Suitable for all applications with larger external mass inertias, in particular CNC applications in machine tools and woodworking machines, the AM8500 series covers a wide performance range with four sizes and three lengths with standstill torques from 1.38 to 29 Nm.
A feature of particular note, as with all servomotors from the AM8000 series, is the One Cable Technology (OCT), with which the power and feedback systems are combined into one standard motor cable.
In addition to featuring the favourable dynamic characteristics and special internal electromagnetic design traditionally associated with Beckhoff servomotors, the new AM8500 series also provides a larger rotor moment of inertia, said to be of benefit for CNC applications in machine tools and woodworking machines. Typical areas of application for the AM8500 servomotors also include printing machines as well as in film winders and feeding drive units.
