Ceramic Technology Advantages
01 November 2012
Heason Technology has launched a 15mm diameter miniature precision rotary servo motor from Nanomotion as a direct-drive solution that features the operating characteristics of the ceramic motor specialist’s technology – providing inherent braking and the ability to eliminate servo dither when in a static position – even under power-off conditions.

The ER15 rotary piezo motor incorporates four tiny Edge ceramic linear motor elements in a backlash and hysteresis free arrangement that suits space restricted rotary motion applications, where position stability and the ability to hold position without requiring a gearbox is a critical factor. For further details see the article on page 32.
