TÜV SÜD BABT appointed as Machinery Notified Body
21 June 2013
The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills has designated TÜV SÜD BABT as a Notified Body for the Machinery Directive. This is the sixth Notified Body appointment for TÜV SÜD BABT in the UK, which also provides certification services for construction, marine, renewables and telecoms products.

TÜV SÜD BABT’s Machinery Directive Notified Body status and its certification personnel have been successfully transferred from Laidler Certification LLP, which was acquired by TÜV SÜD in 2010.
TÜV SÜD BABT is now able to complete conformity assessments for machinery that is required to have Notified Body certification under the Machinery Directive. This includes equipment such as saw machinery, presses, injection moulding machinery and some guarding. It is also a Notified Body under the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Low Voltage Directives, to which most equipment that is subject to Machinery Directive requirements must also comply.
