Unlike other light curtains on the market, users not only have the choice between a type 4 or type 2 (MLC 500 or MLC 300) device when choosing the MLC, but also have the choice between three function types. This means that exactly the right device can be selected in order to perfectly fulfill the requirements of the application.

The features of the new MLC Safety Light Curtains include automatic start/restart function with the Basic model, integrated start/restart interlock and contactor monitoring functions of the Standard version and with the Extended device, muting, blanking (fixed/floating) and three scan modes. All of these functions are easily configured by the electrical connections to the device which means no PC programming or DIP Switch setting is required.

For all its performance, the sensor is unusually slim but extremely sturdy at the same time due to the recessed and bonded front screen, reinforced side walls and metal end caps. The installation of the MLC is very quick and easy due to M12 connectivity plus the large variety of possible mounting options such as swivel brackets as well as removable circular end cap mounts which enable very simple assembly and flush mechanical installation without a dead zone. Installation and commissioning time is further reduced by the 7 segment display and integrated laser alignment functions of the Standard and Extended versions.

With 14, 20, 30, 40 and 90mm resolutions available and protected field heights from 150 to 3000mm the MLC can be used vertically for hand and finger protection or horizontally for access guarding.
