With its BIS-V RFID controller, Balluff addresses market desire for a compact evaluation unit that enables the simultaneous connection of up to four RFID read/write heads.
Both HF (13.56 MHz) in accordance with ISO 15693 and ISO 14443, and LF (125 kHz) read heads can be connected on the front with plug connectors and are automatically detected.
Moreover, the RFID controller is said to be the only device on the market that allows via Profibus DP and EtherCAT the direct connection of sensors and actuators from an IO-Link hub, with PROFINET, DeviceNet and Serial Interface to follow. The result is considerable hardware and installation savings.
