igus manus awards 2015 open for entries

Polymer specialist igus is calling all design engineers to submit details on their latest plastic plain bearing applications for this year’s manus competition for a chance to win prize money of €5000. The competition is open to companies worldwide and entries must be submitted by 20th February 2015. The winners will be announced during Hannover Fair 2015 in Germany, 13th -17th April.
Participants are invited to enter their application online with a short description outlining the previous problem and challenges including a description of the solution along with photos and videos of their application. The Gold manus winner will receive prize money of €5000, with second and third places receiving €2500 and €1000.
The manus awards, which were initially launched in 2003, celebrate innovation. They are a joint initiative with academic partners including the Institut für Verbundwerkstoffe (Institute for composite materials), (Kaiserslautern) and the Fachhochschule Köln (academy Cologne).
