Sealing plugs for high-pressure fluid systems
18 July 2025
COMPONENT SPECIALIST norelem has launched a new range of sealing plugs designed for the reliable and effective sealing of auxiliary bores in hydraulic and pneumatic units.

In the production of fluid systems, it is often necessary to drill auxiliary bores in order to create all required channels. These bores must then be tightly sealed to ensure the systems remain closed and fully pressure-tight. norelem now offers sealing plugs specifically for this purpose, helping manufacturers of hydraulic or pneumatic systems maintain the integrity of their units, even under extreme pressure conditions.
The new sealing plugs from norelem work on the principle of pressure and expansion. Each plug features a serrated sleeve with an integrated ball that serves as the expansion element. When the ball is pressed into the sleeve, the sleeve expands to seal the bore and anchor the plug securely in the base material. This metal seal can withstand continuous pressure of up to 448 bar, without the need for any additional sealants. If required, the plugs can be removed at a later stage.
norelem’s sealing plugs are suited for use in fluid technology systems, including those found in automotive construction, general industry, aeronautics, and machine tools. The plugs are available in both steel and stainless steel versions, in a range of sizes to suit different applications.
Installation is straightforward and can be carried out using insertion pins, which are also available from norelem.
