KUKA expands KR CYBERTECH portfolio
25 March 2026
KUKA IS expanding the new generation of the KR CYBERTECH family with 25kg and 35kg payload variants, adding two flexible and powerful robot models to its portfolio.

"With these two robots, we are following the current trend: machines are becoming more powerful while remaining the same size," says Product Manager Markus Hollfelder-Asam. Performance gains are measurable: repeatability has improved with no increase in footprint. At the same time, both models are AI-ready and fully compliant with ISO 10218:2025.
The new generation builds on what KR CYBERTECH introduced a decade ago: complete installation flexibility. “Whether on the floor or on the wall, both models can be installed at any angle,” says Hollfelder-Asam. This makes the robots highly versatile across applications. They assist with handling, unloading, pick-and-place tasks, and testing, for example.
To this end, both robots have a completely newly developed central hand. The solid wrist construction ensures improved rigidity, which is advantageous for handling, fast pick-and-place tasks, and especially for applications with additional process forces. The optimised path accuracy also meets the strict requirements of demanding applications, such as in the field of photovoltaics. With a standard protection class of IP67, the hand is also resistant to dust and splash water.
The high performance of the robots is further optimised, as both new models are available with the latest KR C5 slim controller for iiQKA.OS2. It is space-saving and powerful, making it ideal for the KR CYBERTECH's areas of application. The controller can be easily upgraded with additional drive units in the free slots in the new controller cabinet. Combined with iiQKA.OS2 and the KUKA smartPLUG teach pendant, the new KR CYBERTECH variants deliver a fully integrated, AI-ready solution designed for efficient, future-focused production, reports the company.
