Tolerance Compensation Shims
05 November 2012
In aerospace engineering M-Tech laminated and solid shims from Georg Martin ensure fast, precision tolerance compensation in the assembly of fuselages, gearboxes, movable components – such as doors, elevators and rudder – and cabin furnishings.
In addition to the well-established metallic shims, the newly developed peel-off PET shims are already used today to reduce assembly times – unlike cast resin products, these shims do not require time to cure. Together with its customers, Martin also develops solutions for an ever increasing number of applications in the field of gap management. Of special interest here are Martin’s in- house developed M-Tech shims, which offer customers a range of benefits over conventional gap management solutions.
The company’s large portfolio of gap management products includes shims for demanding applications. As well as laminated materials, cost- effective punched metal foil with a thickness of only ten micrometres. Self-adhesive wear protection strips are also available.
