BACnet Support As Standard
16 January 2013
Mitsubishi Electric has upgraded the FR-F700-EC range of inverters with network support for BACnet, the most common data communications protocol in building automation and control networks.

Introduced in 1987, BACnet is today the backbone of the vast majority of building services networks, and support for the protocol on the FR-F700-EC makes it easy to integrate the drive into building services automation systems for the likes of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning control.
Particularly well suited to driving fans and pumps, the FR- F700-EC also provides built-in PLC functionality, with support for functions such as ‘square root’ that can be used to enable flow control – for example in air conditioning systems – via PID, using just an additional pressure sensor. This can significantly boost energy savings by enabling the true airflow to be managed rather than the pressure.
