High-current filter
17 January 2014
Designed for rated currents from 150 to 2500A at an ambient temperature of 50°C, Schurter is expanding its FMER SOL DC filter with a series for applications using 3-phase AC.
The devices are suitable for increasingly powerful inverters that require filters on both the AC and DC sides, such as those used in photovoltaics and wind energy systems, as well as in industrial applications and quick-charge stations for electric vehicles. Voltage rating is 520 or 760V.
Ever more powerful and larger systems for photovoltaics and harvesting wind energy need high-performance inverters designed for optimal energy efficiency. Modern inverters with MPP (maximum power point) trackers generate interference in both directions: on the AC grid side and the DC panel side.
On the DC side, a filter in the FMER SOL series can be used for currents from 25 to 2300A. These are enhanced on the AC side with the new FMCC SOL high-current series for 3-phase AC from 150 to 2500 A. Filtering on both sides of the connection lines helps to meet common EMC standards.
