PPMA Show surges ahead
03 February 2014
The Processing and Packaging Machinery Association exhibition (PPMA Show) that recently returned to the PPMA trade Association from a twelve year Joint venture with Reed Exhibitions, is reported to be surging ahead in terms of stand sales and visitor enquiries. The show which takes place from 30th Sep - 2nd Oct is expected to be attended by around 9000 industry professionals.
Commenting on the event, David Harrison, group exhibition manager said: "We have been extremely pleased with how the show is shaping up for next year with it now returning to the sole ownership and management of the Association. The show is now once again run by the industry for the industry. We have already sold over 75% of the available space and may have to increase the size of the floor plan if the momentum continues. We have most of the major machinery and robot suppliers with an increased interest and bookings from industrial vision manufacturers."
Grant Collier, group marketing manager said: "Since bringing the show back in house to be run by a not for profit organisation, we have been able to substantially increase the marketing budget and have started an active social media strategy, along with an extensive marketing campaign involving almost 50 cross-industry and sector specific journals. In addition, we are putting together a comprehensive seminar programme starting with the Groceries Code Adjudicator who will explain how the major multiple supermarkets must treat their suppliers lawfully and fairly. This clampdown should have a positive effect on the machinery supply chain and help food manufacturers adopt automation."
