The eloProg modular safety controller – flexible for every application

06 October 2014

elobau is promoting its modular safety control system, which is easily integrated into existing safety concepts. This system proves flexible and cost effective for every application, large or small. Configuration is via simple, intuitive, easy to operate software.

The eloProg base module is a standalone safety controller in its own right, with built in I/O which can be used as an individual device, but also allows further expansion with additional local or remote I/O modules. This approach has several advantages, particularly with modular machine systems. There are a number of eloProg I/O module configurations which allows the designer to optimize the use of I/O allocation. The configuration software is free of charge with the base unit.

Features and benefits of the system are:

  • Base unit has I/O functionality.
  • Maximum 14 additional eloProg I/O modules providing up to 128 safe inputs.
  • Maximum 6 module stations.
  • Up to 250 metres of bus cable length.
  • Module to module local bus communication.
  • Cost effective wiring due to a local bus transfer communication.
  • All popular fieldbus protocols are available for diagnostic and operational integration.
  • USB programming port on the base module.
  • On-board memory card allows data transfer without the use of a PC.

eloProg specifications

eloProg safety controllers operate from 24V DC and have a maximum switching voltage of 250V AC or 30V DC, with a maximum switching current of 6A. The base unit comes with 8 safe inputs, 2 safe outputs, 4 test outputs, 2 control outputs and 2 EDM inputs. The eloProg base module, and expansion modules, can be used with a variety of I/O devices, e.g. emergency stop switches, safety sensors, guard switches, safety light curtains, laser scanners and two-hand controls.

eloProg is safety rated to SIL 3, PL e and safety category 4, and is UL approved.
