CDA & Siemens team up for Industry 4.0 seminar
29 June 2015
Controls Drives & Automation is delighted to be teaming up with Siemens for the opening seminar at PPMA Show 2015. Presented by Keith Thornhill, business manager, Food & Beverage at Siemens, the seminar will address one of the most topical subjects currently affecting industry, that of Industry 4.0.
While there has been comprehensive coverage of Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things, big data and cyber security across the industrial press, for many there is still something of a disconnect between the theory and the reality. Attending an event last year, I was struck by the amount of OEMs who seemed to think that many of their customers still had very little concept of Industry 4.0 and connectivity, and the advantages that could be gained.
So, if you are operating in the food and beverage sector and want to gain further- or indeed an initial- understanding of what many are saying is the most significant development in manufacturing for decades, this is the seminar for you. With consumers demanding higher quality at lower cost, Thornhill will address how the industry will have to embrace technology and data analytics to stay ahead of the curve. He will then go on to identify the steps required to deploy the latest automation technology with a vision of the digital factory. There will also be time to ask questions.
With an engineering pedigree that spans automation and motion control pioneers, few are better qualified to than Thornhill to deliver the seminar. He has consistently driven innovation in UK packaging machinery manufacturing, identifying operational efficiency and production flexibility benefits that automation technology can deliver to the food and beverage sector, as well as the general consumer packaged goods end user market.
'On the journey towards Industry 4.0' will take place from 11.00 to 11.45am on Tuesday 29th September at PPMA Show 2015, NEC, Birmingham. Registration for PPMA Show 2015 is live at https://livebuzzreg.co.uk/2015/ppma15/
