Raspberry Pi 3 goes Wi-Fi
29 February 2016
Four years on from when the first model sold out within hours of becoming available, the Raspberry Pi 3 has been unveiled. Reported to be the first version to truly work as a fully functioning PC, the palm-sized unit offers significant upgrades over previous versions.
Reflecting the rapidly falling cost of computer components and production, the Raspberry Pi 3 is as powerful as laptops from just a few years ago; its upgraded processor resulting in speeds 50% faster than the Raspberry Pi 2 (launched last year) and ten times faster than the original. The Raspberry Pi 3 also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth functionality, enabling wireless connection to the internet and other devices. Cost is just £32.10.
