HYBRID MOTION TECHNOLOGY

Available in the UK through Motion Control Products, IMS SEM has developed a new motor control technology: Hybrid Motion Technology.

The new technology delivers the benefits of both servo and stepper motor technologies, and is claimed to offer unique capabilities and enhancements over both. It is being referred to generically as "hybrid”, within the context of motion control, as the best intuitive reference.
According to Motion Control Products,Hybrid Motion Technology not only eliminates many drawbacks of stepper and servo systems, it also introduces benefits including variable current/torque, real time control, optimum torque at all speeds, stiffness as standstill, no tuning, and cost effectiveness.
Hybrid Motion Technology is available in MDrive (stepper motors with drives/controllers) products. These integrated motion systems solve many servo applications with a compact, low cost stepper solution.
