Siemens has launched a major new partnership with Grid Battery Storage Limited (GBSL), initially covering a portfolio of four projects which are specifically geared to help National Grid better manage the UK electricity network as well as high energy industrial users to increase grid resilience.
With agreements being currently put in place for the first project at Dorking, the partnership consists of a total of 22MW and are expected to go live between the summer of 2018 and early 2019.
GBSL will use Siemens SieStorage Lithium-ion battery energy storage solutions, and the projects will be financed by Siemens Financial Services in the UK.
