Wind turbines operate under arduous conditions. The bearings used in them must work reliably and have a long lifespan. The design service life of rolling bearings in wind turbines is 175,000 operating hours. For planetary wind turbine gearboxes NKE has developed modular bearing systems for planetary gears. The new bearing assemblies offer standardisation of the bearings, reduced diversity of parts and simplified logistics.
