Linear actuator range expanded

08 July 2022

PROVIDING USERS with wider choice to suit each specific application, Matra has expanded its linear actuator range.

The KM Series ballscrew actuator has been introduced for applications where space is limited. The actuator features a space saving design whereby the carriage of the linear guideway and the nut of the ballscrew are combined to an internal carriage-nut. Rigidity and accuracy are ensured through the shape of the U rail and the use of two rows with Gothic-arch groove. This latter aspect, combined with a contact angle of 45⁰, enables the KM actuator to carry an equal load in radial, reversed radial and lateral directions, to suit any mounting orientation.

For customers requiring a powerful yet economic linear unit, the Matara MTJ ECO series features a pre-tensioned steel reinforced AT polyurethane timing toothed belt for durability, and a zero-backlash ball rail guide system for easy and accurate linear movements. It delivers the power required, at a highly cost-effective price point.

Where quick delivery is necessary, the new electric cylinder MCE/MCSE actuator from Matara is ideal. A mini linear ballscrew drive with a piston rod, it uses standard lengths and comes with a preassembled standard motor together with the standard drive, for a fast turnaround, plug and play system. Even with speed of delivery, the MCE/MCSE actuator is available with extensive accessories and options, such as female piston rod end and extended piston rod, making this product highly flexible and suitable for a wide range of applications.

Matara is pleased to introduce new award-winning linear motors into its product range. The LMCA series boast a force density that is up to 50% higher than comparable motors with very low cogging at the same time. They range from the small LMCA 30 suitable for applications with light payloads, where high speeds and accelerations are required; through to the mid range LMCA 60 which offer high dynamics and a great speed-to-force ratio; up to the strongest motors in the range, the LMCA 90, for applications where axial force demands are the highest.

The last of the new products to be introduced is a range of UNIMOTION stepper systems. These stepper motors and drives offer a simple plug and drive solution for precise automation. They are available with Ethernet, EtherCAT and Pulse-direction communication so that each application can be personalised according to individual specifications.

All of the newly introduced products, along with Matara’s existing substantial range of belt driven and ballscrew linear actuators, are included in a new 328 page Linear Actuator Product Catalogue.
