Enclosed rotary isolators
17 April 2014
Mainly used for isolating the incoming electrical supply to a machine or a piece of equipment, Switchtec's SCL IS series rotary isolators also find application as the main on/off switch or as an isolating switch for general isolating duties, or as emergency padlockable on/off switches in the contractor and control industries.

Suitable for outdoor use, the SCL isolators are protected to IP65 and are available in 20A, 32A, 40A, 63A, 80A and 100A AC three or four pole, and 25A DC double pole units.
The AC switches are fitted with a red and yellow padlockable handle, and the DC switches are fitted with a grey and black padlockable handle. This makes it easy for maintenance staff to rapidly identify AC and DC isolators. All isolator handles are padlockable in the ‘off’ position and are door Interlocked, so that for safety reasons the enclosures cannot be opened in the ‘on’ position.
