Encoders for wind turbines
12 August 2014
At the 2014 WindEnergy exhibition, which takes place in Hamburg this September, Posital will showcase its program of more than 120,000 absolute and incremental encoders.

The devices withstand extreme environmental conditions and are suited to measuring and positioning tasks in wind turbines, such as yaw control of the nacelle through azimuth drives and the monitoring and adjustment of the tilt angle of the rotor blades by means of pitch control systems.
Absolute encoders in particular are predestined for use in wind energy applications: they always ensure reliable positioning and never require reference runs, not even after power failures. All Posital encoders are available with a wide range of fieldbus, Ethernet, and serial interfaces as well as many different mechanical models, allowing for easy integration into machines and plants.
