Compact M12 Stainless Steel Cylindrical Safety Switches from elobau

elobau’s 122MS series of stainless steel cylindrical safety switches are part of their range of magnetically actuated machine safety switches. The 122MS safety switches have been designed for applications in food processing machines used within the packaging and meat processing industry. They were designed in accordance with EN ISO 13849 to provide PLe/SIL 3/Cat 4 level safety when used in conjunction with an elobau safety relay or another suitably certified safety relay.

These stainless steel safety switches were designed after working closely with customers to fully understand the application and the working environment. These new 122MS safety switches from elobau can be used in all types of applications in challenging environments where safety is paramount.

A compact and robust M12 stainless steel housing enables the magnetic safety switches to be used within the tight spaces that are common in this type of machine. A reliable switching distance of up to 9.5mm can be achieved (5mm when used with a 5mm offset). Switch tampering is reduced due to the compact design, enabling better switch concealment. A flat milled surface on the body of the switch ensures a secure installation, and also maintains the switch and actuator orientation. The matching actuator/magnet is also available in an M12 stainless steel housing, again, with a flat milled surface.

The units are designed for a switching voltage of 24V DC, and a maximum switching current of 100mA. All electronics, together with the integral four-pin M12 stainless steel connector, are sealed to IP6K9K. This allows cleaning of the process equipment with high pressure, and at high temperature. The operating temperature range is -25 to +80degC.
