Real-time image processing
07 June 2016
Kithara Software now supports HALCON 12 with its real-time system, which allows for the new features of the image processing library to be applied with guaranteed jitter times.

For fields such as robotics and quality assurance, image data can be immediately processed with HALCON 12 in a real-time context. Resulting data can be transferred directly from HDevelop to EtherCAT I/Os and converted into machine logic. This creates a coherent real-time cycle for image capture, processing as well as machine control and therefore allows for a significant increase in throughput efficiency and precision.
With HALCON 12 the library is extended with numerous functions, in particular the added support of the CPU instruction set extension AVX2 as well as the utilisation of an optimised just-in-time compiler. At the same time, the RealTime Suite now supports an automatic parallelisation of multiple CPUs.
