ORIENTAL MOTOR has expanded its BLE2 Series with the introduction of a new IP69K-rated brushless DC motor. Designed to eliminate moisture ingress and improve reliability in demanding food processing and packaging environments, this latest addition delivers superior washdown resistance, faster cleaning and greater reliability for manufacturers.

With hygiene requirements tightening and cleaning regimes becoming even stricter, the new BLE2 brushless motor offers an unrivalled standard in motor design. It guarantees full resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets from all angles – making it suited to a wide range of equipment that is subject to rigorous cleaning and sanitisation, including processors, conveyors, fillers, sealers, portioning systems and packaging machinery.
With many manufacturers of food processing and packaging machinery not currently meeting IP69K standards, the industry remains plagued with issues when sanitising machines. This latest addition to Oriental Motor’s BLE2 range is therefore a notable advancement for food machinery OEMs.
Moisture ingress is one of the most persistent and expensive causes of equipment failure in the food industry. If water, steam or cleaning chemicals enter a motor housing, they can trigger a variety of issues from short circuits and bearing corrosion, to insulation breakdown and contamination of product areas. This leads to either long-term motor degradation or immediate operational failure. The resulting repair costs and downtime, causing major disruption to production schedules and overall hygiene compliance.
The new BLE2 IP69K motor directly addresses these issues. With its fully sealed stainless-steel housing, smooth, crevice-free design and encapsulated internal structure, it withstands the most rigorous washdown and sanitisation routines without compromising performance. The robust design prevents water and oil ingress to ensure consistent operation even after repeated exposure to high-pressure jets and hot water sprays.

The new BLE2 IP69K-rated motor combines hygienic engineering with precise motion control. It delivers 200 W of output power, smooth torque characteristics, and high efficiency, making it ideal for semi-automatic and automated production lines where precise, reliable motion is essential. The companion BLE2 speed control driver offers integrated feedback and simple operation, enabling accurate speed regulation across varying loads.
By allowing direct, high-pressure washdown cleaning, the BLE2 motor eliminates the need for manual disassembly or shielding, significantly reducing cleaning time and labour. For manufacturers, this means improved throughput, lower maintenance costs and peace of mind that the Oriental Motor solution can endure the harshest sanitation environments without performance loss.
