Apex PEII high precision planetary gearbox meets T. Freemantle’s needs

T. Freemantle required gearboxes for its new compact pre-glued sleever to provide performance, reliability and minimal maintenance. The company previously faced challenges with availability and extended lead times because of gearbox parts shortages, leading to inflated prices.

A gearbox from the Apex Dynamics PEII-Series was selected and connected by T. Freemantle to a servo motor at 90° using a coupling also supplied by Apex Dynamics. The PEII-Series high precision planetary gearbox is the newest revision of the successful P series, with the design optimised for higher accuracy, lower weight and length, and greater motor mounting versatility. Featuring an industry standard metric C-face output flange, robust carbon steel and aluminium construction, and precision bonded housings, the PEII range delivers greater accuracy and faster, more precise assembly.

Designed to meet the challenges of modern food production environments, the S01 patent protected compact sleever is easy to operate and ultra-hygienic. It has the smallest footprint of any pre-glued sleever on the market at around 1m² and is capable of speeds up to 120 ppm on a double rotary. Unique features include easy visibility and access for cleaning, compatibility with a variety of pre-glued sleeves, simple setup and maintenance, high capacity, reduced changeover times, and an easy-to-use HMI with production data feedback.
