Radwell International, a global specialist in industrial spare parts, repairs, maintenance and obsolescence solutions, has installed a Robotics Testing Centre of Excellence at its facilities in Blackburn, UK, to ensure the highest level of quality control for spare parts.

Radwell is one of Europe’s biggest distributors of new and reconditioned industrial automation and electronic control equipment, providing a holistic obsolescence management solution for the repair and maintenance of production and processing equipment.
With European sites in the UK, Germany, Poland, Belgium, Czech Republic and Spain, and over 2,000 employees across eighty locations worldwide, the company is an authorised distributor for over 350 manufacturers, specialising in hard-to-source parts, maintaining over 4 million parts in stock in Europe and over 40 million worldwide.
Radwell’s unrivalled product inventory is supported by its multi-national team of over 50 European-based engineers, speaking a total of 25 languages.
The new specialised facility in Blackburn features thirteen working robots from six brands, including Kuka, ABB, Yaskawa, Motoman, Kawasaki, Comau, all linked to fully-functional control panels, allowing Radwell to repair and test robotic and control components to support customers worldwide.
The robots at the specialist facility in Blackburn add to further test units at various sites across Europe and the USA, covering brands from Denso, Nachi, Panasonic and Hanwha, amongst others.
Radwell European head of production and engineering, Steve Turner said: “The new specialist test facility in Blackburn is a further step in our mission to be the indispensable partner to manufacturers, offering an extensive inventory of fully-tested industrial parts and services to minimise downtime.
“Working in a huge variety of sectors, the size and scale of our inventory now puts us in an unrivalled position for the provision of spare parts and repairs solutions in stressful breakdown situations, and the new Robotics Testing Centre of Excellence in Blackburn helps us meet the gold standard in quality control for robotics spare parts, as part of our commitment to providing our customers the best possible support in their hour of need, or for strategic obsolescence planning and preventative maintenance.”
