Ruland to distribute standard line of Belden Universal joints
16 January 2020
Ruland and Belden Universal have agreed further cooperation, offering universal joints from Belden through Ruland’s eCommerce platform. Ruland will stock and make to order a wide variety of friction- and needle-bearing universal joints in alloy and stainless steel.

The addition of universal joints gives Ruland a more complete power transmission offering to complement its existing line of zero-backlash couplings including rigid, beam, bellows, controlflex, disc, jaw, slit, and oldham couplings.
The universal joints will be available through Ruland’s eCommerce platform, giving users access to 2D and 3D CAD files, full product specifications, live chat tech support with application specialists, pricing and availability. Along with inventory on the most common sizes, Ruland will use its flexible manufacturing capabilities to make to order non-inventoried products to give Ruland and Belden customers greater than industry standard service levels.
“Ruland and Belden have jointly owned an office in Germany, PTMotion, for more than ten years. This is a natural expansion of our relationship together to provide a more expansive product range for Ruland customers,” says Bill Hewitson, President of Ruland. Nick Sainati, General Manager of Belden, comments, “Belden is excited to cooperate more closely with Ruland and have them as a distribution and remanufacturing partner for our standard universal joints.”
Established in 1937, Ruland Manufacturing Co., Inc. is a manufacturer of high performing shaft collars and couplings as well as a distributor of a wide range of machine components including universal joints, modular mounting systems, and installation accessories. 3D CAD files, full product specifications, and additional technical information are available at www.ruland.com.
Belden Universal is an AS 9100D and ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer of high-quality standard and specialty universal joints and drive shafts. Advanced design and production capabilities allow Belden to meet any complex application criteria, delivering high levels of precision for both single prototype parts and high-volume production runs. Unique materials, finishing processes, testing capabilities and quality compliance programs (e.g. RoHS, REACH and DFAR) differentiate Belden Universal from the competition.
