Efficient identification with the innovative UV inkjet printer
16 October 2025
THE BLUEMARK E.Card UV inkjet printer from Phoenix Contact is reported to set new standards in industrial identification, delivering efficient material processing, low-maintenance printing technology, and optimal print results on plastic and metal card materials.

The clear identification of all devices, components, and circuits in industrial environments presents significant challenges for control cabinet builders and system manufacturers. Depending on where the markings are to be used and the associated ambient conditions, there are numerous, application-specific requirements.
The device marks card materials with an innovative combination of thermal inkjet technology and UV LED curable inks. With the help of automated material recognition, the printer determines an ink composition tailored to the base material and prints the material using specific marking parameters. The modular ink concept and the use of UV light to cure the ink result in application-optimised plastic and metal marking materials that provide high-quality markings.
The UV inkjet printer is characterised by its compact design and high print volume. Automated material processing enables materials to be refilled without interrupting the print job. This provides time savings of up to 40% compared to printers with manual material processing. Thermal inkjet printing ensures a low-maintenance identification process, as the entire ink system, including the printhead, is simply replaced when the ink cartridges are changed.
With the help of intuitive user guidance and efficient software solutions, extensive printing projects can be implemented quickly and easily. The bidirectional OPC UA communication interface means that all the information needed to plan and monitor print jobs and the device status is available at all times.
