Assist safe shutdown
24 April 2014
Sensor/actuator hubs with IO-Link interface from Balluff help save time and money in the installation, maintenance and operation of machines and equipment.
The extremely rugged M12 versions in the fully potted, full-jacket housing are ideal for very harsh industrial environments such as found on machine tools and in steelworks.
New in the Balluff line are IO-Link actuator hubs which meet the requirements for safe shutdown according to Machine Directive 2006/EG, EN 954-1 Category 3, EN 13849-1 EN 62061 SIL2. The hubs allow standard I/Os and safety I/Os together to be mapped within a fieldbus topology.
The model BNI IOL-252/256 actuator hubs have the I/O block divided into two galvanically isolated segments. This allows two separate safety circuits to be implemented in one module, thereby considerably expanding the IO-Link system concept in its functionality.
