171K safety switch from elobau

Make machine safe simple with the 171K series safety switch from elobau. This magnetic safety switch has ETL approval, and is ideal for applications on small OEM machines or standalone equipment which have a single point safety requirement, it removes the need for a safety switch and a separate safety relay. The device, which is believed to be unique on the market, utilises a standard M30 body.

The switch is vailable in 2 different operating versions – front actuation, which requires the magnet approaching to the front of the device (as shown in the illustration), and lateral actuation, where the magnet approaches to the side of the device. Selection of the appropriate magnet provides a reliable switching distance of up to 21 mm.

Available for operation on 230 vac or 24 vdc with a 2.5 amp rated safe output contact. As shown in the circuit diagram, the 6 wire device has 2 wires for the power supply; 2 wires for the safe output; and 2 wires for the control output. The switch is fitted with a diagnostic LED indicator as standard, and is suitable for use up to PLd/SIL CL3/Cat3.

With an IP67 protection rating, and an operating temperature range of -25 to +75 °C the switch is designed to easily cope with harsh industrial environments.
