K4 drive development kits
06 December 2023
STRAIGHT OUT of the box and up and running in a matter of minutes, these ebm-papst drive development kits available from RS help engineers to prototype and test new motor drive designs quickly and easily.

Ideal for engineers switching from other motor technologies to brushless DC (BLDC) motors with integrated controllers, each kit includes a switch box which replaces a PLC and enables the engineer to set digital or analogue inputs. These inputs dictate the unique parameters for how the motor will operate in a specific application and can control the speed and position. The kits are supported by an intuitive and extensive programming/evaluation software interface suite and include a handy programming module, which can be used to set up operating parameters and drive characteristics to get up and running quickly and efficiently.
During the design phase, engineers can also take advantage of a range of video tutorials, a quick-start guide and a full programming manual, or optimise their drive designs with the ebm-papst online configuration guide, which includes 3D models, datasheets and drawings.
Also available from RS is a range of 'bolt on' motors and gearboxes designed to be used in conjunction with the kits. There are six alternative kits available and an additional 9 'bolt on' drive motor/gearboxes each offering a different drive solution.
